The University of Arizona NSAC (National Student Advertising Competition) team has 14 members, consisting of both marketing and design majors. Our task since August was to create a comprehensive $10mil advertising campaign for the sponsor of the event, Mary Kay. 11 of us went to Colorado Springs, CO, where the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) District 12 regionals took place, to pitch our campaign.
Our team placed 2nd overall, which according to Dr. Ackerley, has not been done in over 10 years. We were also noted by the judges to have the best presentation out of the other schools in our district.
Our campaign would have been nothing without the collaboration of the designers’ expertise in creating our “book,” an aesthetic and tangible piece of work that showcased the specifics of our campaign, and marketing’s research to show that our campaign was the best out of all options.
We would like to thank Dr. Ackerley for being our supportive advisor and the marketing department for making our trip to Colorado possible. Our team would not have had this fantastic opportunity if it weren’t for the never ending support Eller has for its students.
