Marisa Allen Alumni Stories

Margo GeerUA/Eller Grad year: May 2015

UA/Eller Major: Business Management

What have you been doing since you graduated from Eller & how did you come across this opportunity?

Since graduation, I have continued my swimming career as a professional. I represented team USA in Kazan, Russia for the World Championships this past July. I will continue to train in Tucson and compete across the country looking towards qualifying for the Olympic games in 2016.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect is inspiring others in and out of the pool. I’m also very blessed to be able to travel and meet really special people. Plus, I love what I do.

What skills besides swimming would you say are important to being successful in your field?

To be successful as an elite athlete I think it is important to be focused and disciplined. You have to be not only physically strong but also mentally strong. It’s important to constantly find ways to get better and explore your potential.

Any advice for students looking to enter your industry/company (or for general success after graduation)?

Chase your passions and carve out your own path.
