As a Marketing student with an interest in entertainment, I have been searching for opportunities to gain experience in media marketing. I expressed this interest with a career coach at the PDC, who then contacted me with an opportunity to promote and market an event on campus with Mirrored Media based in LA. In the same day, I was then introduced to a representative from Mirrored Media and given the information needed to get started as a Marketing Representative.
The event includes a free screening for the new Syfy show The Magicians followed by a live performance by Bebe Rexha. It also includes activations, refreshments, and a meet and greet. Our team came together only a week ago and in that time we have met and planned out our promotion strategy including social media posts, posting flyers, reaching out to organizations on campus, and more.
I am able to learn new marketing tactics and widen my network in the industry I want to work in. One of the best parts of this experience is being able to work with students that have a similar interests in entertainment. Everyone has their own unique ideas to bring to the table that will make this event a success.
I would advise any student interested in finding out about career opportunities to stop by the PDC. Every Career Coach I have met with at the PDC has been incredibly helpful with my career goals. This has been a great resource for me for everything from networking to work opportunities.
If you are interested in attending the screening, it is on January 20th at 8pm in the Gallagher Theater. You can RSVP at http://www.themagicianstour.com/ It’s going to be a great time, you won’t want to miss it!
