Ryan Hammett is majoring in MIS and Operations Management and interned with Wells Fargo as an Information Technology Audit.
What was a typical day at your internship like? The first half of the internship consists of a lot of helpful training from how to communicate effectively as a business professional to learning fundamentals of the audit process within Information Technology. After training, there was a lot of testing of controls and interaction with business partners within Wells Fargo.
What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? My advice would be to do as much research not only on the company, but on the position you’re applying to across the industry. The more you know in-depth about the skills that position requires, it’ll show the recruiter you take a particular interest in that position and that you’d be a good fit in that role.
How has Eller prepared you for your internship? Eller has taught me how to be more independent and informed when searching for a career. It has helped me develop my personal aspirations and skills so that I have a better understanding of the business world and the endless career paths there are to choose from.
