Lauren Peterson is currently in process of completing a 12-Month Master Program in Finance at the University of Arizona.
Why did you decide to go to graduate school? I decided to further my education because I received my undergraduate degree in 3 years – giving me time to pursue a Master’s Degree and graduate at the same time as the people I started college with.
What was the preparation and application process like? To prepare, it was important to determine what I wanted to get out of the program. The Application Process was relatively easy with the assistance of Kay Ross.
What has been the most challenging part of your experience? The most rewarding? The most challenging part thus far is the difference in time management and the quality of work. The most rewarding part is seeing my ability to apply concepts from undergrad.
What do you hope to do after you complete the program? After completion of the program, I hope to start a career in the Financial Industry where I will be doing quantitative analysis, or investment management.
What advice do you have for students looking to pursue the same advanced degree? My advice to students looking to pursue the same advanced degree is to talk with fellow graduate students and listen to their challenges, and to understand that hard times now will pay off later.
