Andrew Allsup is a pre-business student expected to graduate in May 2020. This summer, he had an internship with Sincere Finance as their summer analyst in Hong Kong. For this internship, the living situation was arranged by Dream Careers.
How did you land this internship? I was able to secure an interview with the chief analyst, Daniel Yue, of Sincere Finance through my advisor at Dream Careers, a third party company that connects students with companies in locations around the world. Daniel was impressed by my resume and after the interview he extended me an offer to work at Sincere.
What was your favorite part of the experience? My favorite part of the experience was taking weekend adventures to different places in Hong Kong with other students in the program. I made a lot of friends and got to see amazing things, for example I hiked Victoria Peak, went to Thailand and played with tigers, and the list goes on.
What advice do you have for other students seeking a similar internship? I would highly recommend working or studying abroad to any student. It is an experience that you won’t regret, and you will make friends and see amazing things. It is never a bad thing to step out of your comfort zone.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship? Eller prepared me for my internship in many ways, but the most helpful was learning about resume format and finance, because I used both of those skills to gain and excel at my internship.
