Connor is a Marketing major graduating in May of 2018. This summer he worked as a Sales Intern/Enterprise Business Consultant for Intuit here in Tucson, Arizona.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
My favorite part was Intuit’s “Intern Summit.” They fly out all 250 interns from across the country to participate in an intern conference that lasts two days. During the conference we were spoken to by Intuit’s CEO, Brad Smith, and a former US Astronaut, Leland Melvin.
What did you find most challenging about the internship?
Sales can be a roller coaster, some days are great and some days aren’t. It was tough at first to keep a positive outlook when I wasn’t having a good day.
What advice do you have for other students seeking a similar internship?
Join clubs on campus that can help you get in contact with recruiters from different companies. Six of Intuit’s Sales Interns were hired from the Eller Professional Sales Club this past summer.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship?
All the presentations I made last semester really helped prepare me for the presentations I had to make this summer at work. My first semester of Eller taught me better time management skills, which were crucial for this internship.
