Russell Reed is a Marketing major graduating in May 2018. This summer, he interned at Destination Luxury as their sales associate in Los Angeles, CA. Housing was not provided for this internship, however, Russell is originally from LA, so he was able to live at home.
How did you land this internship? I applied for this internship on Indeed.com and was interviewed by phone.
What was your favorite part of the experience? My favorite part of the experience was to see how a sales department functions in a small digital publishing agency.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it. I completed a budget analysis to determine which list sell company and CRM software would be most feasible the company.
What advice do you have for other students seeking a similar internship? Get on LinkedIn, Indeed, and any other job searching website just start applying because you never know which will work out or not.
Anything else you would like to share about your internship? Don’t be afraid to apply at small organizations. I really wanted to work for a large marketing or advertising firm but being a part of a small team really allowed me to learn a lot more than I probably would have at a bigger company.
