Ana is a Marketing major graduating in December 2018. This summer, she interned with Altria in Denver, Colorado as their Territory Sales Manager Intern. This internship offered housing stipend for the summer.
Tell us a little bit about how you landed the internship: I got introduced to this opportunity through my involvement in Eller Hispanic Honorary, its events, and its Altria ambassadors that connected with me and encouraged me to apply. Then, the ambassadors and Altria representatives were always there to guide and prepare me every step of the way if I needed it.
What was your favorite part of the internship? My absolute favorite part of my internship was the amount of mentoring and support I received from all levels of management. From my in-field coworkers to the Section Director, there was not a moment where I did not feel welcome, empowered, and challenged to be better.
What are a few things you learned? I learned the importance of working together as a team, sharing insights, and putting others and the company values first when you work.
What advice you have for other students looking for a similar internship? My advice to students looking for a similar internship would be to motivate yourself to act based on curiosity and the wish to become better. If those are your motivators, you will naturally search to ask questions, learn more, ignite passion and leadership, and overall—succeed.
