Chaya Boks graduated in May 2016 with a major in Business Management and a certificate in Sport Management. She now works for the Miami Dolphins in Miami, Florida.
Why did you choose to work for Miami Dolphins? When I entered Eller I knew I wanted to grow my career in the sports industry. My dream is to become a president of a professional sports team. Upon graduation, I did my research on the top organizations to work for and the Miami Dolphins was clearly the best.
Tell us about your job responsibilities and title. Account Executive for Business Development as well as a Fins U leader (Management in training)
I am in charge of selling access and options here at Hard Rock stadium to local businesses and consumers. I was also chosen to be a ‘Fins U’ leader where I oversee and mentor a group of Inside Sales Representatives.
What do you enjoy most about working in Miami Dolphins? Not only am I passionate about my role, but the culture at the Dolphins unbeatable. Moving cross country it was very important to me to join a team where I felt like I was at home.
What is your fondest Eller memory? There are so many but Professor Gilliland’s class impacted me the most. My goal is to be in leadership and her class prepared me for situations I wouldn’t have even imagined that could happen.
What advice do you have for Eller students seeking a similar career path? Eller prepares their students so well for the real world. Undergraduate to Postgrad was a very easy transition for me to due to the guidance from the professors and academic advisors at Eller. Trust your leaders, trust your professor’s advice, they’re rooting for you!
