Internship Spotlight – Brittany Gunn, Native American Advancement Foundation

Eller PDC Coordinator Student Stories

Brittany Gunn was a Business Administration major and graduated in the Summer of 2018.  She interned this summer for the Native American Advancement Foundation as the Social Media and Graphics intern in Tucson, Arizona.

How did you get this internship? I heard about it through a friend.

What was a typical day like? I was able to work with a flexible schedule as long as I accomplished the tasks at hand.

What did you find most challenging about your internship? I found it challenging to figure out what my manager was looking for at times, so when faced with a new task I would send drafts and ask if this is what he was looking for. In the end, sending drafts and asking for input made our work relationship more communicative and caused the output to be mutually satisfying.

What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? Having a network or a mutual contact definitely helps if someone is looking for a similar internship to this.

Did your internship employer provide housing or transportation assistance? No, my employer did not provide any housing or transportation assistance.
