Camille Sweger is a Finance major and will be graduating next spring. She interned for Honeywell as the Future Finance Leaders Intern in Phoenix, Arizona.
How did you get this internship? I applied through Handshake and had a few interviews!
What was a typical day like? We all had a project to focus on so we were working on that every day, I was included in all the meetings my team had and spent a lot of time talking on the phone with analysts in India for my project. There were a lot of FFLs (Rotational Program) around so they were really helpful and sometimes in my down time I would shadow them. We also got to go on a lot of site tours which was a great experience.
What was your favorite part of the experience? The networking, our program lead had us network with the entire Finance Leadership Team which was a great experience and really put us out of our comfort zone.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below: I worked on a project documenting the processes and trying to streamline the process of different chargebacks and their HQ allocations.
What did you find most challenging about your internship?Learning how to use all the databases and understanding organizational structure of such a large company.
What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? Look for internships with a strong leadership development program, prepare for your interview and know about the company going into it.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship? BCOM was extremely helpful for my final presentation, it would not have gone as well as it did had I not had all the presentation experience from last semester.
Did your internship employer provide housing or transportation assistance? My employer provided housing.
