Alexandra Hawk is an Accounting and Entrepreneurship double major who will graduate in May 2019. She interned this summer for HCVT as the Tax Intern in Orange County, California.
How did you get this internship? I applied to their Summer Leadership Conference during my sophomore year and after going to that I interviewed for an internship!
What was a typical day like? I would come into the office, get coffee from the coffee machine and then people would come to my desk and give me work! I worked on a lot of structure charts and tax returns for LLC’s.
What was your favorite part of the experience? The company! Everyone at the firm was so nice and helpful it made the summer really fun.
What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? Apply to as many things as possible and don’t be discouraged! Any internship is a good internship even if it isn’t what you want to do as a career.
Did your internship employer provide housing or transportation assistance? No, my employer did not provide any housing or transportation assistance.
