Internship Spotlight – Jessica Daniels, KPMG

Eller PDC Coordinator Student Stories

Jessica Daniels is an Accounting major and will be graduating in 2019. She interned over the summer with KPMG as an Internal Audit Intern in Phoenix, Arizona.

How did you get this internship? I applied to several externship programs my freshman year through two interviews and got the two day summer externship. During the externship, I had another interview for the internship where I got the internship position.

What was a typical day like? The typical day involved going out to a client site and working with my team on many different activities where I learned exactly how the business works and helped out management internally.

What was your favorite part of the experience? My favorite part was that I was doing something different every day and was learning something new everyday. My internship class and I also put on an event for Child Crisis where we raised almost $1500 in the office through our event which included games, raffle baskets, and prizes!

What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? My advice is to get yourself as involved as possible in Eller and in Meet the Firms! Join clubs like Beta Alpha Psi and ASA and work with your teachers and career coaches. Everyone is here to help you and wants to see you succeed!

Did your internship employer provide housing or transportation assistance?  No, my employer did not provide any housing or transportation assistance.
