Sara Rosenburg is a Marketing major and will be graduating in May 2019. She interned for Canyon Ranch as a Digital Marketing Intern right here in Tucson, Arizona.
How did you get this internship? I applied online and then went through a series of interviews before being offered the position.
What was a typical day like? Throughout the summer I was able to work on many diverse projects within digital marketing. On a typical day I could be working as a project manager, conducting analytics, creating emails, contributing to the website and so much more.
What was your favorite part of the experience? I was given so much responsibility and trust throughout my internship. It really pushed me to grow and make meaningful contributions to the marketing team.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below: I was a project manger on various large projects including the launch of a spa booking engine and a new work flow system.
What did you find most challenging about your internship? It was definitely an adjustment to have to balance so many projects on a daily basis. I learned to prioritize my work and manage my time efficiently.
What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship? If you are looking for an internship in digital marketing, it might be hard at first because they are not as common. When applying for these types of internships, I noticed that there are more posted in the spring semester.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship? Eller helped me prepare for this internship in several ways. The presenting and group work skills I learned in Eller helped me when I worked as a project manager on various teams.
Did your internship employer provide housing or transportation assistance? No, my employer did not provide any housing or transportation assistance.
Anything else you would like to share about your internship experience? After my internship I was lucky enough to receive an offer to continue working with Canyon Ranch as a Marketing Operations Coordinator.
