Jessica DeNise graduated in May 2009 with a major in Business Management. Currently, Jessica is working at Fisher Investments as their Group Vice President of Recruitment Marketing in Portland, OR.
Why did you choose to work for Fisher Investments? Opportunity! Fisher has 2,500 employees, so it is well established but not a big organization. This meant that I could rotate into different groups, gain experience and have my work make a real impact on our clients and the company.
Tell us about your job responsibilities and title: I am the Group Vice President of Recruitment Marketing. This means I am accountable for all the ways we find, engage and attract talent to the company. My team owns our Campus Recruiting, Career Website, Job Postings, and so much more!
What do you enjoy most about working at Fisher Investments? Fisher Investments is a young and exciting company. Working in a collaborative environment with driven, dedicated people make each day a fun new challenge.
What is your fondest Eller memory? Winning Case Competition! That was such a challenge but my team and I put in the work and saw the results!
What advice to you have for Eller students seeking a similar career path? STAY OPEN! I would have walked right past “Fisher Investments” at a career fair – I am NOT finance major and I know nothing about that world. Realize that your unique skills and ideas can contribute to most companies in different capacities so figure out what you want out of your first year or two out of college and keep an open mind!
