Autumn Mosley is an Economics major graduating in May 2020. Last summer, Autumn interned with Runway East in London.
If you worked on a big project during your internship, please describe what you did to help. I did not necessarily work on a big project but I did run my own event from start to finish. This included communication with the client, communication with caterers, setting up, running the event and clean up.
What did you find most challenging about your internship? The thing I found most challenging was working and communicating in the British way. They like to take things a lot slower and tend to talk a lot. As an American I have a much faster pace and mindset when it comes to work, but I enjoyed the British work culture and learned a lot.
What advice do you have for other students that are also considering interning abroad? Take every opportunity they give you. You don’t have a lot of time to prove what you can do so start out strong and ask for what you want.
How did Eller (or your previous coursework) prepare you for your internship? Eller prepared me for my internship abroad because I already knew how to conduct business professional emails and communicate professionally.
