I found the internship on Handshake.
What was a typical day like?
A typical day consisted of implementing a strategic 5 P’s plan to drive sales, coaching colleagues to reach our daily credit and sales goals.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
The relationships built with colleagues and being able to analyze each colleagues strengths and weaknesses and delegate roles to drive sales.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:
The opportunity to create an event to drive sales within my area of business, INC. The sales goal was $5,000 vs last year which was $3,500, and we had a successful event reaching $5,100. The total investment in the event was a $20 Starbucks gift card, and used resources within the store. The experience included a DJ, touch ups and consultations by Clinique, collaboration with handbags, sample appetizers from Wolfgang Puck, and a selfie station.
What advice do you have for other students looking for a similar internship?
To be open to the opportunity that is presented to you and to have a positive outlook on the assignment you have.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship?
Learning to work together and collaborate with different types of personalities for a common goal to ultimately become successful.
