Christine Aguiar is an Accounting major set to graduate in May 2020. This summer she interned for PwC as an Assurance Intern in Boston, Massachusetts.
How did you get this internship?
I applied on Handshake and the PwC portal after attending Meet the Firms. After 1 in-person interview and 1 virtual interview with a partner from the Boston office, I was offered a position.
What was a typical day like?
During the 1st half of the internship, I spent the majority of my time completing trainings and learning more about digital tools used by the firm. For the 2nd half, I worked with an engagement team and the client to review a 10-Q.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
My favorite part of the internship was taking part in weekly events such as volunteer days, market team social hours, promotion day, “Lunch & Learn” meetings, and initiative trainings.
If you worked on a big project, please describe it below:
The interns for my team were tasked with analyzing data about the background of the entire market team and creating data visualizations using Tableau. I also completed a list of digital tasks utilizing bots and workflows.
What did you find most challenging about your internship?
The most challenging part of the internship was learning the unique systems and understanding the big picture of the audit process.
