Eric DaWalt is a Marketing major set to graduate in December 2019. This summer he interned for Goldman Sachs as an Operations Summer Analyst in Salt Lake City, Utah.
How did you get this internship?
I got my internship by reaching out Katelyn Rose and Jeff Welter in the PDC. Both Jeff and Katelyn have an in-depth understanding of the process with Goldman Sachs and proved to be awesome resources throughout the process.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
My favorite part of my internship was having so much exposure to Senior Management within the firm. Regardless of a persons title or which office they sat in, every person I met at Goldman was more than willing to have a conversation and answer any question.
What did you find most challenging about your internship?
My biggest challenge this summer surrounded one of my intern projects. I worked on a team that was formerly two teams and had been converged into one. I was tasked with consolidating our procedure information into one consolidated website. This proved to be difficult because it required that analyze discrepancies and gain in-depth knowledge of our business in a matter of 10 weeks.
How did Eller prepare you for your internship?
Eller prepared me through analytical thinking and problem solving, professionalism, and presentation skills. I was able to simplify a complex problem and recommend a business solution; conduct myself in a manner that was friendly and professional; and deliver a concise presentation confidently and effectively.
