Internship Spotlight – Hunter Lindgren, Havas Edge

Eller PDC Coordinator Student Stories

Hunter Lindgren is a Marketing and Business Management double major set to graduate in May 2020.  This summer he interned for Havas Edge as a Long Form Media Intern in Carlsbad, California.

What was a typical day like?

One of the best parts about this internship is that there wasn’t a typical day. Every week I got to learn new and exciting parts of the company and industry and grow to be more comfortable in my position.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of this experience was rotating throughout the different departments to really learn how the whole company worked. Throughout my first 5 weeks I would move to a new department each week, then following these first 5 weeks I was able to select the department of my choosing and act as a coordinator under an Account Executive.

What did you find most challenging about your internship?

The most challenging part of this internship was really understanding and gaining a grasp around the industry. It’s a very niche practice, so I had no experience with the market or  how commercials even end up on the air. So there was a large learning curve, but once I created a foundation of understanding it become a lot easier to complete different projects and tasks I was assigned.

How did Eller prepare you for your internship?

Eller had an amazing impact on my success in this internship. My ability to present efficiently and effectively created multiple opportunities to differentiate myself within the company and bring new ideas and content that many people hadn’t seen. For example, we mocked a pitch to a new possible client to join our agency. Following this pitch one of the Account Executives asked for the presentation so he could utilize our presentation for a possible real pitch in the future.

Anything else you would like to share about your internship experience?

Havas Edge has an amazing corporate culture and community that strives to be enjoyable for all of their employees. I highly recommend anyone who likes a mix between a social atmosphere and data driven performance to think about applying!
