Social Media Tour – Viacom and Snapchat

Eller PDC Coordinator Clubs & Orgs, Student Stories

The Eller Social Media Club gives University of Arizona students the opportunity to learn from expert guest speakers about social media techniques and careers, while building their own personal brand on social media and unifying a community of social networkers.  Recently, they went on a tour in LA where they had Q&A sessions with Viacom and Snapchat that included a panel with mostly UArizona alumni in sales roles, marketing roles, and creative roles.  Here is what some of the club members had to say about their experience!

“The ESMC trip to Viacom and Snapchat HQ was informational and a wonderful experience! The experience to see our successful alumnis’ motivates us to do better and accomplish our goals, it was a great opportunity to connect and learn from them!” –  McKerrow Serrantes

“This trip was a great experience that expanded my horizons and I am grateful for things I learned, the great companies I visited and the connections I’ve made” – Carena Keller

“Working on creating a company networking trip took a lot of communication between our club and the contacts at Viacom and Snapchat. Utilizing the alumni from the club and from the overall Eller College was extremely helpful because we felt connected to one another and had the same mission for this trip, to provide an experience for students to grow professionally and explore their career interests. Quite an amazing trip to visit the Viacom Hollywood offices to meet people in Social Media Manager roles and go to Snapchat HQ to have a Q&A panel of employees in sales roles, marketing roles, and overall creative roles, all to provide the students with career exploring opportunities. Without the help of the Eller College faculty, alumni connections, are active club members, and our Executive Board, this trip would not have been made possible.” -Helen Matz
